Job summary

JDE Peet’s seeks a Global Strategic Sourcing Director for Packaging to lead a worldwide sourcing strategy across Aluminium, Flexible, Rigid, Glass, Carton, and Corrugated materials with up to €1bn spend. You will lead a team of 5–6 Category Managers, drive cost savings, and shape supplier relations on a global scale.

The role demands 10+ years in global procurement, strategic sourcing expertise, and strong leadership to deliver measurable cash and cost results.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in global procurement, with a strong track record in packaging or direct materials categories.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high‑performing procurement teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
• Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, risk management, and supplier relationship management at a global scale.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to set strategic direction and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience with state‑of‑the‑art sourcing models, risk management tools, and direct material procurement.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and coach a high-performing team of sourcing managers to develop and execute global packaging category strategies.
• Define and implement category strategies across Aluminium, Flexible, Rigid, Glass, Carton, and Corrugated — tracking execution and benefits realisation.
• Identify and deliver total cost of ownership savings, building longer-term productivity pipelines across the category portfolio.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, lead negotiations, and maintain a robust portfolio of agreements to manage supply, price, and quality risk.
• Drive innovation programmes — continuously scanning for new technologies, suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, the Combined Business Model, and oversee high-level risk management across categories.
