Job summary

JDE Peet’s is seeking a Global Strategic Sourcing Director for Packaging to lead the sourcing strategy across Aluminium, Flexible, Rigid, Glass, Carton, and Corrugated materials with up to €1bn spend. You will head a team of 5–6 Category Managers and report to the Global VP Strategic Sourcing Direct Materials.

You will shape category strategies, drive savings, manage supplier relationships, and push innovative cost-reduction programs across a global supplier base in a senior leadership capacity.

As Global Strategic Sourcing Director for Packaging, you'll lead the sourcing strategy across Aluminium, Flexible, Rigid, Glass, Carton, and Corrugated materials — with a spend responsibility of up to €1bn. Leading a team of 5–6 Category Managers and reporting to the Global VP Strategic Sourcing Direct Materials, you'll set the strategic direction, drive execution, and deliver tangible cost and cash results across a complex global supplier base. This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines deep packaging category expertise with the commercial sharpness and people leadership to make a lasting impact.

What you’ll be doing:

• Build, lead, and coach a high-performing team of sourcing managers to develop and execute global packaging category strategies
• Define and implement category strategies across Aluminium, Flexible, Rigid, Glass, Carton, and Corrugated — tracking execution and benefits realisation
• Identify and deliver total cost of ownership savings, building longer-term productivity pipelines across the category portfolio
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, lead negotiations, and maintain a robust portfolio of agreements to manage supply, price, and quality risk
• Drive innovation programmes — continuously scanning for new technologies, suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, the Combined Business Model, and oversee high-level risk management across categories

For this role as Global Strategic Sourcing Director – Packaging, we're looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

• 10+ years of experience in global procurement, with a strong track record in packaging or direct materials categories
• Proven ability to lead and develop high‑performing procurement teams in a complex, matrixed environment
• Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, risk management, and supplier relationship management at a global scale
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to set strategic direction and influence senior stakeholders
• Experience with state‑of‑the‑art sourcing models, risk management tools, and direct material procurement
• Degree level education; MBA or further qualification preferred
