Job description

Brownline is entering its next phase of growth and is seeking a hands‑on Global Marketing Lead to help accelerate expansion — with the United States as the immediate commercial priority while maintaining a coordinated global approach.

This is a standalone, delivery‑focused role with budget responsibility and direct exposure to the leadership team.

About Brownline

Founded in 1994 and headquartered in the Netherlands, Brownline is a global leader in gyro steering and HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) guidance services. We operate across Europe, North America, Canada and Australia and have completed more than 27,000 drilling projects worldwide.

Our core product, the Drillguide Gyro Steering Tool (GST), is a premium, high‑precision technology delivered through a full‑service, engineer‑led model. We operate in critical infrastructure sectors including oil & gas, utilities, telecommunications, renewables and civil engineering.

Recently acquired by Halma plc (FTSE 100), we operate independently within a global group committed to building a safer, cleaner and healthier future.

The Role

The Global Marketing Lead will play a key role in driving revenue growth by clearly positioning Brownline’s technical differentiation and generating high‑quality opportunities — particularly in the U.S. market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of Brownline’s customers and project value chain — including asset owners, EPCs, contractors and drill crews with an initial focus on growing the U.S. market while maintaining global visibility.

  • Clearly articulate Brownline’s technical differentiation and premium positioning in a way that resonates with technical decision‑makers.

  • Support early‑stage project engagement by helping position Brownline’s capabilities at specification and planning stage.

  • Plan and execute targeted marketing campaigns that generate qualified enquiries and support project‑led sales growth.

  • Work closely with Sales and Operations to ensure marketing reflects operational capability and commercial priorities.

  • Educate the market on Brownline’s unique capabilities and support growth in both traditional oil & gas and expanding infrastructure sectors.

  • Lead ongoing improvement of the website and digital presence (with agency support where required) to ensure it clearly communicates value and converts interest into enquiries.

  • Manage paid digital campaigns (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads), monitor performance and ensure marketing spend delivers measurable ROI.

  • Support regional teams with practical marketing materials aligned to their local markets.

  • Travel internationally as required (up to 25%).

Experience Required
  • Hands‑on marketing experience within engineering, infrastructure, utilities, construction, oil & gas or other technical service environments (HDD experience advantageous).

  • Experience marketing complex, technical solutions to professional and operational audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to support sales in project‑led or specification‑driven environments.

  • Practical experience managing websites, digital content, SEO fundamentals and paid digital campaigns.

  • Comfortable analysing performance data and reporting on ROI. Experience supporting international markets; U.S. exposure is advantageous.

What We’re Looking For
  • A practical, commercially minded marketer who enjoys building from the ground up.

  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership.

  • Able to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, compelling messages.

  • Internationally aware, culturally adaptable and willing to travel when required.

  • Motivated by growth, accountability and measurable results.
