Job summary

Sotalent in Amsterdam is seeking a Head of Financial Control to lead regional financial control activities, ensure IFRS reporting and governance across multiple legal entities within an international tech and online marketplace environment.

This senior role combines technical accounting, people leadership and cross-functional collaboration, focusing on financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and continuous process improvement in a complex multinational setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting principles.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, statutory reporting and compliance.
• Proven experience managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical accounting matters into clear business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a regional Financial Control team.
• Oversee IFRS and local accounting compliance across entities.
• Partner with Finance Business Partners and other functions for accurate reporting.
• Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance and internal control requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance Systems to optimise ERP processes.
