About the Role

A leading international technology and online marketplace business is seeking a Head of Financial Control to lead regional financial control activities and ensure high standards of financial reporting, compliance and governance across multiple legal entities.

This senior leadership role combines technical accounting expertise, people management and cross-functional collaboration, with responsibility for driving financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement within a complex international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing regional Financial Control team.
• Oversee the quality and accuracy of transactional finance activities in line with IFRS and applicable local accounting requirements.
• Partner with Finance Business Partners, business leaders and other finance functions to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance and internal control requirements across relevant legal entities.
• Work closely with Finance Systems teams to optimise ERP processes and improve financial efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and strengthen financial controls.
• Lead complex technical accounting projects, including impairment assessments and other accounting matters.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across Finance.
• Communicate complex accounting and financial matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Drive consistent financial governance and reporting standards across an international organisation.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, RA or equivalent.
• 10+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably including external audit.
• Broad accounting experience within a complex, international, publicly listed or multinational environment.
• Advanced knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting principles.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, statutory reporting and compliance.
• Proven experience managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
