General Manager in Den Haag - Premium Fitness and Wellness Club

Upto €61,200 per annum + 8% holiday allowance + monthly, quarterly and annual bonus

Location: Den Haag (The Hague), Netherlands.

Our client is a fast-growing European gym operator, known for high-energy training, strong music, and a member community built on ambition. They're looking for a hands-on General Manager to lead one of the group's largest and most complete sites, a flagship club with a pool, a full wellness area and a hospitality offering, serving a member base approaching 5,000.

This is a General Manager role for a builder rather than a caretaker. The club is at a turning point after a period of change, and its members are vocal, engaged and quick to tell you what they think, which is exactly why the right person will love it. You'll own the entire operation, from team and revenue through to wellness, partnerships and the full member journey, and you'll do it visibly, on the floor, where the difference actually gets made. Turn the atmosphere around here and you will have done something worth talking about.

Working pattern: Full time, with around 16 management hours a week and the remainder spent on the floor. Two set shifts a week (one opening, one afternoon) and one weekend a month, with flexibility needed for evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead from the floor: Be visibly present during peak and off-peak hours, engaging with members, trainers, hosts and wellness staff every day.
• People and conflict management: Handle a demanding, high-contact member base with calm and credibility, and turn difficult conversations into loyalty.
• Team building: Build, coach and energise a strong team across fitness, personal training, hosts and wellness, and develop the talent within it.
• Member experience: Protect and elevate the club atmosphere across the gym floor, wellness, hygiene, music and flow, so every touchpoint counts.
• Commercial ownership: Own all revenue streams including subscriptions, personal training, retention, lockers, vending, wellness upsell and local partnerships.
• P&L and operations: Manage budgets, cost control, forecasting and planning, and hold brand standards through daily floor presence.
• Community and partnerships: Build local partnerships that reflect the city and position the club as a leading urban fitness and wellness destination.

About you:

• Senior management experience: At least three years in a senior management role within fitness, hospitality, leisure or another high-service environment.
• A natural floor leader: You earn credibility through presence, action and connection rather than title.
• Comfortable with challenge: You are unflustered by confrontation and confident with both high-end and demanding member groups.
• Community minded: You build relationships locally and create moments members remember.
• Commercially aware: You read performance data and turn it into immediate action, with B2B and partnership experience a strong plus.
• Energised by pace: Service-driven, detail-oriented and at your best in a fast-moving club environment.
• Flexible: Happy to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as the operation requires.
• Hands-on by choice: If you're looking for a desk-based or purely strategic management role, this one won't suit you.
