Moxy & Residence Inn Houthavens Amsterdam, part of Marriott Hotels & Resorts, invites aspiring hospitality professionals to join our Front Office Internship. You will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring welcoming check-ins and a smooth arrival experience while learning the front desk systems and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an MBO/HBO hospitality program.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Fluent or proficient in English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude.
• Check guests in and out and provide a smooth arrival and departure experience.
• Answer guest questions and provide information about the hotel and Amsterdam.
• Handle guest requests and help solve any issues or complaints.
• Assist guests with reservations, changes and cancellations.
• Answer telephone calls, emails and other guest enquiries.
• Learn and work with the hotel’s reservation and Front Office systems.
• Process payments and assist with cashier and administrative tasks.

What You Will Do During This Internship

• Welcome guests with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude
• Check guests in and out and provide a smooth arrival and departure experience
• Answer guest questions and provide information about the hotel and Amsterdam
• Handle guest requests and help solve any issues or complaints
• Assist guests with reservations, changes and cancellations
• Answer telephone calls, emails and other guest enquiries
• Prepare for daily arrivals and departures
• Check reservations and special requests to make sure everything is ready for our guests
• Learn and work with the hotel’s reservation and Front Office systems
• Process payments and assist with cashier and administrative tasks
• Communicate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage and other departments
• Follow up on guest requests and make sure they are handled correctly
• Help maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area
• Assist with the smooth running of the Front Office during the shift
• Learn how to handle different guest situations and find appropriate solutions
• Contribute to creating the fun and personal Moxy guest experience
• Help make Residence Inn guests feel at home, especially guests staying for longer periods
• Learn about hotel safety procedures and what to do in emergency situations
• Participate in team meetings, training and other hotel projects
• Work different shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays

Who are you?

• You are eager to learn and creative
• You master the English language, Dutch is an advantage.
• You follow a relevant MBO/HBO study (hotel - facility - tourism)
• You are sociable and enjoy working in a diverse team
• You are flexible and able to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays
