Job summary

Crowne Plaza Amsterdam – South is offering an internship within the Front Office team. The role supports guest arrivals, reservations, and daily operations while following IHG brand standards.

You will gain exposure to admin tasks, reporting, and shift handovers, contributing ideas to improve guest experiences. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a relevant study program, with strong English communication and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Enrolled in a study program relevant to the hospitality role.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Opera or other hotel management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist guests on arrival and check-in.
• Maintain guest satisfaction through clear communications before, during, and after stays.
• Support Front Office with reservations, inquiries and guest requests.
• Assist VIP arrivals and communicate guest preferences to departments.
• Adhere to Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards for quality service.
• Help with admin tasks and learn operational procedures and shift handovers.
• Work across morning, afternoon, or evening shifts with the team.
• Contribute ideas to improve guest experiences and processes.

Your Day To Day

• Greeting and assisting guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and friendly check-in experience
• Maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction through clear communication before, during, and after each stay
• Supporting the Front Office team in handling reservations, inquiries, and guest requests
• Assisting with VIP arrivals and ensuring all guest preferences are communicated to the right departments
• Following Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards to ensure consistent, high-quality service
• Helping with administrative tasks and learning operational procedures such as checklists, reports, and shift handovers
• Working in various shifts — morning, afternoon, or evening — alongside our passionate team
• Contributing your own ideas to improve guest experiences and internal processes

Ready to land this internship?

• The internship is part of your school program
• Excellent communication skills in English and preferably also in Dutch. Another language is always a plus.
• You have a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy working with people
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Opera is a plus
