Job summary
Generator Amsterdam is seeking an exceptional Front of House Crew member to join our team and support the Front of House colleagues in delivering a memorable guest experience. You’ll lead with energy, communicate clearly, and embody the Generator spirit in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
As part of the FOH team, you’ll ensure top service, maintain brand standards, and help keep operations smooth while creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff alike.

Generator Amsterdam is located in the up-and-coming eastern side of the city overlooking Oosterpark. This former zoological university building can accommodate 564 guests in 168 twin and quadruple rooms with incredible views on the surrounding and en-suite bathrooms. There is also one luxury apartment for six people with views of the park and a self-catered kitchen. It has flexible and spacious social areas, filled with creative design touches like glass-fronted elevators, a raised café and an outdoor terrace. We’ve turned the former lecture hall into an impressive chill-out lounge and bar, while the old library is now a relaxation and private events room. The basement and café are now dining destinations and the original boiler room has become a secret late-night bar.
- Supporting and reporting into Front of House Manager
- Take ownership of the guest journey to ensure that we create a truly unique Generator experience
- Strive to continuously “raise the bar” by improving standards of performance, redefining the hostel experience by achieving outstanding customer satisfaction
- Ensure that our social spaces embody the Generator brand and culture
- Play a part in ensuring that there is a responsible person (duty manager) onsite at all times
- Build and lead a FOH team who get Generator and want to be themselves
- Ensure that your team remains up to date with all local, national and international trends
- Communicate effectively and appropriately in all directions so that the team understands its goals and is motivated to achieve them
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with all local legislation and regulations pertaining to your department

- Passionate for hospitality and the youth travel market
- Passionate for delivering excellent customer service
- Strong leadership skills with ability to coach, mentor, train and develop crew members
- Hands-on experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights
- You must be eligible to work in the EU to be considered for this role
- Previous experience working in the hospitality industry and in a similar role
- Possess a high level of commercial awareness and sales capabilities in addition to excellent leadership skills
- Competent level of IT proficiency
- Conversant in at least one Property Management System
