Generator Amsterdam is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our Kitchen team. You will prepare and present dishes, support senior chefs, and help deliver an exceptional guest experience in a vibrant, social hospitality brand in Amsterdam.

You will be responsible for mise-en-place, food safety, and helping drive revenue through great food concepts. This role requires passion for cooking, teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Experience in the food industry in a similar role.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes within company guidelines.
• Ensure guests receive exceptional service and a guest-friendly attitude in staff.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed expectations.
• Prepare all mise-en-place for relevant menus.
• Be aware of departmental targets and contribute to the team.
• Keep working areas clean and prevent cross-contamination.
• Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues to your manager.
• Comply with security, fire regulations and health and food safety laws.
• Improve product knowledge to maximize revenue and service.
• Carry out other duties as requested by Head Chef.

ABOUT GENERATOR AMSTERDAM

Winner of the Hospitality Design Best Economy Hotel Award. Ride your bicycle along café-lined waterways, visit the most creative shops around De Pijp or just kick back by the canal and try a few cold Dutch beers. It’s pretty hard to get stressed in Amsterdam, but having a good time is easy. Generator Amsterdam is located in the up-and-coming eastern side of the city overlooking Oosterpark. This former zoological university building can accommodate 564 guests in 168 twin and quadruple rooms with incredible views on the surrounding and en-suite bathrooms. There is also one luxury apartment for six people with views of the park and a self-catered kitchen. It has flexible and spacious social areas, filled with creative design touches like glass-fronted elevators, a raised café and an outdoor terrace. We’ve turned the former lecture hall into an impressive chill-out lounge and bar, while the old library is now a relaxation and private events room. The basement and café are now dining destinations and the original boiler room has become a secret late-night bar.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes within company guidelines
• Ensure our guests receive an exceptional level of service and want to return and encourage a guest service attitude in staff
• Anticipate guests’ needs and provide service to exceed their expectations
• Prepare all mis‑en‑place for all relevant menus
• Be aware of departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team
• Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination
• Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues to your manager
• Comply with company security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
• Constantly improve product knowledge to maximize revenue and the service provided
• Carry out any other duties as may be requested by the Head Chef that is relevant to the job
