Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer (Flights) in Europe to scale a live flight technology product. You will design and build high-performance APIs for flight search, booking, and post-booking services, with emphasis on reliability, caching, and data models.

You will work in a small team, take ownership of technical solutions, and influence the architecture while collaborating across fintechs, travel platforms, and partners.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, backend focus.
• Experience with flight travel domain (OTA, airline, GDS, distributor, or flight booking platform).
• Strong understanding of end-to-end flight booking lifecycle (search, booking, post-booking).
• Hands-on experience with NDC in production.
• Python production experience; other OO languages (Java/Go/Kotlin) welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Scale and evolve the flight product into reliable, flexible infrastructure for partners.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for flight search, booking, and post-booking.
• Make architectural decisions around APIs, caching, data models, performance, and reliability.
• Develop caching approaches for flight offers balancing speed, cost, accuracy, and freshness.
• Support booking servicing workflows: changes, cancellations, refunds across airlines.
• Work with NDC and GDS integrations to enable airline retailing standards.
• Collaborate with a small engineering team and deliver improvements to production.
• Improve performance, scalability, and resilience of high-traffic systems.
