TrueNoord is seeking a highly motivated Financial Accountant (Senior) to join our Finance team in Amsterdam. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will play a key role in monthly and annual financial reporting, audit coordination, technical accounting support, and process improvement across a growing portfolio.

Based in the Amsterdam office at Schiphol with hybrid working (minimum three days in the office required).

Qualifications

• 4+ years of accounting or audit experience (big four valued)
• IFRS technical knowledge
• Experience with Dutch statutory reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience in leasing, aviation, financial services or asset management is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and investor reporting.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and month-end/year-end close.
• Coordinate annual statutory financial statements for multiple entities.
• Partner with external auditors and support audit process.
• Support technical accounting projects and implementation of new standards.
• Review entries and reconciliations prepared by third-party service providers.
• Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Commercial and Technical teams across the organization.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Accountant (Senior) to join our growing Finance team in Amsterdam. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 4+ years of accounting or audit experience looking to develop their career in an international, fast paced and dynamic environment. Reporting to the Head of Finance, and working closely with the wider Finance team, the successful candidate will play a key role in monthly and annual financial reporting, audit coordination, technical accounting support, and process improvement initiatives across a growing portfolio.

Location

Based in the Amsterdam office at Schiphol, with hybrid working (minimum three days in the office required). During the initial onboarding and training period, a higher level of in-person attendance will be expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Play a key role in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs, along with investor reporting.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and play a key role in delivering an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close.
• Coordinate and prepare annual statutory financial statements for multiple entities.
• Partner with external auditors, coordinating information requests and helping drive a smooth and efficient audit process.
• Support technical accounting projects, researching accounting treatments and assisting with the implementation of new standards.
• Review accounting entries and reconciliations prepared by third-party service providers where applicable.
• Help shape the future of the finance function by contributing to process improvements, automation initiatives and finance transformation projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Finance, Legal, Commercial and Technical teams, gaining exposure to all aspects of the aircraft leasing business.
• Support ad-hoc transaction, acquisition and financing projects as required.
• Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Proactive, self-motivated and keen to take ownership of tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively within an international team environment.
• Knowledge of Dutch statutory reporting requirements and local accounting/compliance obligations is highly desirable.

Experience

• At least 4+ years of accounting or audit (big four or similar experience is highly valued).
• IFRS technical knowledge.
• Experience with Dutch statutory reporting requirements and local financial reporting obligations is highly desirable.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Jet Reports or Power BI would be advantageous, but not essential.
• Experience in leasing, aviation, financial services or asset management is beneficial, but not required.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• RA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA (SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification is mandatory.

Language

Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential. Dutch or other languages is a plus.
