About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager to join our Dutch branch. In this role, you will lead our accounting team and oversee financial processes for a dynamic portfolio of innovative clients. You will collaborate with colleagues in the Netherlands and the UK, combining technical expertise with strong leadership to deliver high-quality financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of experienced accounting professionals, fostering expertise, accountability, and client service excellence
• Oversee financial processes for clients including accounting, payroll, monthly and annual closings
• Address complex accounting, valuation, and tax-related matters
• Conduct periodic reviews of closings to ensure compliance and quality standards
• Support client onboarding and setup of financial processes
• Contribute to cross-functional projects focused on automation and process optimization
• Prepare annual financial statements (NL-GAAP) and ensure year-end reporting quality
• Manage corporate income tax processes ensuring timely, compliant execution
• Support external audits by coordinating requested documentation and leading technical discussions

What you bring to the table

• 3+ years of proven experience in a similar role (Account Manager) in an accounting firm; non-audit experience preferred
• HBO degree in Accountancy or equivalent
• Experience with reporting and accounting software (Exact Online preferred)
• Experience with complex funding structures, equity arrangements, and subsidy accounting
• Proven experience managing a team
• Solid understanding of Dutch tax regulations (VAT, CIT, Payroll Tax)
• Affinity with technology and a passion for supporting cutting-edge start-ups
• Ability to work autonomously with a focus on output and deliverables
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
• Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Proactive, hands-on mindset with strong follow-up skills
