Our client is an international buying alliance based in Amsterdam, negotiating competitive terms and conditions for FMCG goods with international A-brand suppliers on behalf of its partners. Their shareholders and suppliers are based in Europe.

The role

As they continue to scale, we're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building processes, solving problems, and supporting business growth.

You are a hands-on finance professional who combines accounting expertise with a passion for process improvement. You enjoy working in a growing organization where you can take ownership, build structure, and make a visible impact.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day finance operations while partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to improve financial visibility and drive operational efficiency. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, managing the payment process, and helping build scalable finance processes that support the company's continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the payment process, including daily payments, reconciliations, and supplier communication.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Support VAT filing and assist with statutory audits.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure accurate accounting records and compliance with local regulations and Dutch GAAP.
• Maintain, strengthen, and document finance processes as the company grows.

What you'll bring

Experience

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, audit or finance.
• Experience in Big 4, a scale-up, or an international environment.
• Experience working with ERP systems and Excel.
