Job description

EMEA Recruitment is supporting an international organisation in its search for an Financial Accountant to join its team in Amsterdam on a fixed term contract until March 2027.

This is a part-time opportunity for an experienced finance professional with strong Dutch GAAP knowledge who is comfortable taking ownership of the accounting requirements for Dutch entities within an international organisation.

Key responsibilities of the Interim Financial Accountant:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting for the Dutch operating and holding companies
• Manage operating costs, expenses and other accounting transactions
• Support payroll-related accounting activities
• Prepare financial reporting for headquarters
• Liaise with the Dutch Tax Authorities and other local authorities
• Support statutory reporting and local compliance requirements
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete and up to date
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and headquarters on financial matters
• Support the transition and handover from the current postholder
• Provide general accounting support to the Dutch entities as required

Candidate profile:

• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP
• Previous experience in a Financial Accountant, Financial Controller or similar position
• Experience managing the accounting requirements of Dutch entities
• Experience dealing with Dutch Tax Authorities and other local authorities
• Previous experience within an international / multinational organisation
• Strong understanding of statutory accounting and financial reporting
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Practical and hands-on approach to accounting
• Good communication skills and comfortable working with international stakeholders
• Must already have the relevant right-to-work / permits for the Netherlands

The role will be offered on a part-time basis, Monday to Wednesday. Monday will be office-based, with Tuesday and Wednesday worked remotely.

Please note this in an FTC and not a ZZP opportunity with a pro-rata salary of €45,000.
