Job summary

PathoNostics is seeking a hands-on Financial Accountant to join our growing finance team in Maastricht, The Netherlands. You will manage full-cycle accounting, including invoicing, GL, AP/AR, reconciliations, and monthly closings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will work with Odoo ERP, enhance processes, and support the CFO with reporting, VAT, and tax matters, while maintaining high data integrity in a small, dynamic organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar role.
• Experience with bookkeeping, financial reporting, and financial management.

Responsibilities

• Support full-cycle accounting operations (bookkeeping, GL, AP, AR, expenses, bank, fixed assets, inventory, tax, intercompany).
• Process and review invoices, payments, receipts, and other entries with proper documentation.
• Perform reconciliations (bank, customers, suppliers, intercompany) and follow up on discrepancies.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings and timely completion of activities.
• Prepare financial statements, consolidated and management reports, and related analyses.
• Prepare and support VAT filings and corporate tax matters; liaise with tax authorities as needed.
• Maintain and improve finance processes within Odoo ERP for efficiency and control.
• Assist CFO with reporting, analytics, process improvements, and other finance projects.

Job description

• Support full-cycle accounting operations, including bookkeeping, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, bank transactions, fixed assets, inventory, tax, and intercompany transactions.
• Process and review invoices, payments, receipts, bank transactions, and other accounting entries, ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
• Perform bank, customer, supplier, intercompany, and other balance reconciliations, and follow up on discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements, consolidated reports, management reports, and related financial analysis materials.
• Prepare and support VAT filings, corporate income tax-related matters, and other tax compliance activities.
• Communicate with tax authorities and other government regulatory authorities on tax-related matters, and handle tax filings and other compliance-related submissions.
• Maintain and improve finance processes within the ERP system (Odoo), to enhance accounting efficiency, data accuracy, and process control.
• Support the CFO with financial reporting, analysis, process improvement, internal control, and other finance or administrative projects.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar finance role
• Experience with bookkeeping, financial reporting, and financial management
• Good understanding of VAT and general tax-related matters
