Job summary

EMEA Recruitment is assisting an established international investment business in Amsterdam to recruit a Portfolio Finance Manager. The role focuses on using financial and operational data to drive visibility, identify trends and support investment decisions.

You will enhance how financial information is collected, analysed and presented with a strong emphasis on automation and data-driven insights across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
• Around 10+ years of finance experience, ideally in FP&A, Portfolio Finance or similar roles.
• Exposure to Private Equity or investment environments is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to tell the commercial story behind numbers.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial modelling.
• Advanced Excel and interest in reporting, data and automation.
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools would be beneficial.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management with senior finance/investment teams.
• Proactive, hands-on approach and curiosity to improve processes.

Responsibilities

We are delighted to be working with an established international investment business to recruit a Portfolio Finance Manager for their team in Amsterdam.

This is a broad finance role with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and investment professionals.

The successful candidate will use financial and operational information to improve visibility of business performance, identify trends and support commercial and investment-related decision-making.

Alongside the analytical element of the position, you will have the opportunity to improve how financial information is collected, analyzed and presented, with a strong focus on efficiency, automation and the effective use of data.

Key responsibilities of the Portfolio Finance Manager:

• Analyze the financial performance of investments and identify key trends, risks and performance drivers
• Provide clear financial insight to support senior stakeholders and investment-related decisions

Candidate requirements:

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
• Around 10+ years’ relevant finance experience, ideally gained within Business Control, FP&A, Financial Analysis, Portfolio Finance or a comparable position
• Exposure to Private Equity, Investment Management or another investment-led environment would be advantageous
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand the commercial story behind financial results
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial modelling
• Advanced Excel skills and an interest in reporting, data and automation
• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools would be beneficial
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with senior finance and investment professionals
• A proactive and hands-on approach with the curiosity to challenge information and identify opportunities for improvement
