Job summary

Our client in Amsterdam seeks a Financial Controller Real Estate to own accounting and financial control for SPVs, oversee reporting under IFRS and Dutch GAAP, and coordinate audits and regulatory filings. You will collaborate with international teams and external advisors to strengthen controls and drive process improvements.

The role requires at least 6 years in accounting/finance, strong Dutch GAAP knowledge, and excellent English communication, with a hybrid working model and exposure to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in accounting, financial control, fund administration or real estate finance.
• Experience reviewing and coordinating work within larger teams.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP is a must.
• Experience with real estate, investment funds or SPV structures.
• Familiarity with consolidation and financial reporting systems such as Workiva.
• Knowledge of Dutch tax compliance requirements is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the accounting and financial control activities for a portfolio of real estate SPVs.
• Review accounting deliverables prepared by international shared service and offshore teams.
• Coordinate and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages.
• Review standalone and consolidated financial statements prepared under IFRS and Dutch GAAP.
• Ensure timely completion of statutory filings and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Oversee corporate income tax, VAT and withholding tax compliance processes.
• Manage relationships with clients, auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel and other external stakeholders.
• Monitor cash positions and coordinate treasury and cash management activities.
• Lead internal and external audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve reporting processes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Support senior management with financial analysis and ad hoc projects related to real estate investments.
