Job summary

Trinamics is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to design, develop and validate FPGA firmware for high-tech systems. You will work with VHDL on complex modules where timing and reliability are critical, collaborating with electronics, software and mechatronics engineers.

You will translate requirements into firmware architectures, perform simulation/verification, and support hardware/software interfaces throughout the lifecycle. Fluent English is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience with VHDL and FPGA design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain FPGA firmware using VHDL.
• Translate system requirements into functional and technical firmware solutions.
• Design and implement RTL, including synthesis, compilation and timing closure.
• Simulate and verify FPGA designs using ModelSim and/or QuestaSim.
• Test and validate firmware in laboratory environments and machine modules.
• Develop and maintain hardware/software interfaces.
• Debug FPGA designs using ILA, ChipScope or SignalTap and various measurement equipment.
• Act as the technical point of contact for FPGA topics within projects.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, electronics and mechatronics engineers to deliver integrated system solutions.

Job description

For Trinamics, we are looking for an experienced FPGA Engineer to design, develop and validate FPGA firmware for complex high-tech systems. You will work with VHDL on electronic and mechatronic modules where high performance, precise timing and reliability are essential.

You will be involved throughout the complete FPGA development lifecycle, from translating system requirements into firmware architectures to implementation, simulation, verification and validation. You will work closely with engineers from electronics, software and mechatronics to develop robust and scalable solutions for advanced machines and systems.

What we expect from you

• Solid experience with RTL design, synthesis, compilation and timing closure.
• Experience with FPGA development tools such as Altera Quartus and/or Xilinx ISE.
• Experience with simulation and verification tools such as ModelSim and/or QuestaSim.
• Hands-on experience with FPGA debugging tools, such as ILA, ChipScope or SignalTap.
• Experience testing and debugging FPGA designs in a laboratory environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.

What we offer

• A gross monthly salary of up to €5,700, depending on experience and education
