Job summary

Trinamics is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to design, develop and validate FPGA firmware for high-tech systems. You will work with VHDL on complex modules where timing and reliability are critical, collaborating with electronics, software and mechatronics engineers.

You will translate requirements into firmware architectures, perform simulation/verification, and support hardware/software interfaces throughout the lifecycle. Fluent English is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience with VHDL and FPGA design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain FPGA firmware using VHDL.
• Translate system requirements into functional and technical firmware solutions.
• Design and implement RTL, including synthesis, compilation and timing closure.
• Simulate and verify FPGA designs using ModelSim and/or QuestaSim.
• Test and validate firmware in laboratory environments and machine modules.
• Develop and maintain hardware/software interfaces.
• Debug FPGA designs using ILA, ChipScope or SignalTap and various measurement equipment.
• Act as the technical point of contact for FPGA topics within projects.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, electronics and mechatronics engineers to deliver integrated system solutions.
