Job summary

Marimecs is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform electrical assembly and installation work on maritime projects, primarily at sites across Germany with occasional assignments abroad.

You will install control cabinets and switch panels, lay and connect cables, and carry out on-site electrical tasks, traveling at short notice to keep systems running. This is a full-time position with a company car, laptop, and mobile phone, and a training budget is available.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering education at vocational level is required.
• Minimum 2 years in a medior/senior maritime role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings independently.
• SCC certificate is required or willingness to obtain it.
• Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical assembly and installation work at project sites.
• Install maritime systems, including control cabinets and switch panels.
• Lay and connect cables and carry out on-site electrical tasks.
• Coordinate with supervisor to keep projects on schedule.
• Travel regularly, within and outside the country, to service ships.

Job description

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for electrical assembly and installation work, primarily at project sites across Germany, with occasional assignments abroad.

Your role involves installing maritime systems, including control cabinets and switch/control panels, laying and connecting cables, and carrying out all on-site electrical tasks.

You will perform your duties following established procedures and guidelines, while preparing each assignment by collecting the necessary materials and tools and ensuring everything is in order. Close communication with your supervisor ensures that projects run efficiently and on schedule.

Since our clients’ ships can be located anywhere worldwide, you should be ready to travel at short notice to get systems back up and running as quickly as possible.

Requirements

What you bring

• A completed Intermediate Vocational Education-level education in Electrical Engineering
• A minimum 0f 2 years of work experience in a similar role at medior or senior level in the maritime industry
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings independently
• An SCC certificate (or willingness to obtain it)
• Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken
