Job summary

Tecwave B.V. is seeking an Electrical Engineer Maritime for Vlissingen/Rotterdam to design and commission naval vessels with robust electrical systems. You will develop electrical designs, perform load calculations, and ensure compliance with customer specs in an MBSE environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing complex electrical systems, preferably in maritime, offshore, or aerospace industries.
  • Experience with MBSE and V-model design workflow.
  • Familiarity with EMC and TEMPEST considerations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Developing functional descriptions, drawings, and technical documentation for power distribution and electrical systems.
  • Preparing and maintaining specification documents for electrical components and installations.
  • Drafting detailed test and validation plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely project contributions.
  • Reviewing supplier designs and integrating them into the vessel’s design.
  • Developing and documenting standards and work methods for detailed engineering and commissioning.
  • Providing technical support during the proposal phase and creating conceptual electrical system designs.
  • Supporting commissioning and start-up activities during project execution.

Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer, you play a crucial role in the construction and commissioning of naval vessels equipped with robust and efficient electrical systems. You will be responsible for developing electrical designs and ensuring strict compliance with applicable regulations and customer specifications. From load calculations and power distribution to cable routing: you ensure systems remain fully operational under the most demanding conditions. You work in a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) environment and ensure thorough validation throughout both the design and production phases.

Your responsibilities as Electrical Engineer:

  • Developing functional descriptions, drawings, and technical documentation for power distribution and electrical systems;

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing complex electrical systems, preferably in maritime, offshore, or aerospace industries;
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary projects involving multiple suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and working according to the V-model methodology;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline;
  • Familiarity with EMC-compliant design and experience with TEMPEST regulations is a plus;
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).

Employment Conditions

  • Attractive salary up to €7,500 gross per month plus 8% holiday allowance;
  • 27 vacation days and 13 additional days off (ADV days);
  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer;
  • PME pension scheme with 60% employer contribution;
