Job summary

Oceanco, based in the Netherlands with Alblasserdam and Zwijndrecht facilities, is seeking a Facilities Lead to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient facility services across sites. You will lead planning, budgeting, and capex projects while aligning with regulatory frameworks.

Join a pioneering yacht builder and help maintain high safety standards, oversee service contracts, and collaborate with Procurement, HR, Finance, and QHSSE to support sustainable operations.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Dutch.
• HBO/Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in similar roles within a structural engineering environment - preferably within the maritime industry.
• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in leadership and people management roles.
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a facility services team.
• Plan and manage annual and long-term facility plans aligned with company strategy.
• Own facility budget: forecasting, cost control, and reporting.
• Oversee contracts and SLAs with service providers and ensure compliance.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards across sites.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external authorities.

Your purpose:

Lead the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery and continuous development of all facility services across organizational sites, within applicable regulations and organizational frameworks, ensuring continuity of business activities.

What will your challenges be?

Planning & Budgeting

• Develop and manage annual and long-term facility plans aligned with company strategy
• Own facility budget: forecasting, cost control, and reporting
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality, safety, and service levels
• Prepare investment proposals for facility improvements and infrastructure projects
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the facility portfolio

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop a team in line with HR policies and company values
• Promote continuous improvement of facility processes
• Ensure alignment with third parties and enforce procedures
• Oversee execution of large capital expenditure (capex) projects

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Take ownership of safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Enforce company rules and procedures and report unsafe situations
• Contribute to a safe, clean, and compliant working environment across sites

Facility Operations & Project Management

• Ensure operational excellence, continuity, and legal compliance across facilities
• Manage contracts and SLA’s with service providers (cleaning, security, maintenance, etc.)
• Oversee inspections, certifications, and permit renewals
• Supervise maintenance, renovation, and infrastructure projects
• Coordinate with internal teams (Procurement, HR, Finance, QHSSE)
• Liaise with external authorities and regulatory bodies

Reporting & Stakehold Management

• Deliver accurate and timely reports on performance, budgets, risks, and opportunities
• Participate in management meetings, audits, and inspections
• Act as facility representative to senior stakeholders

What do we ask for?
