Job description

Overview

Improving the processes in our hotel, training your colleagues, and making sure everything runs smoothly at the restaurant and at the bar. You ensure that all colleagues have the right tools to make our guests happy with our food and beverage services. As the supervisor you are responsible for the restaurant, the lobby and the bar together with our international team here in ibis Styles Rotterdam Ahoy.

During your shift you make sure that everything runs smoothly. If a waiter cannot solve a complaint, you jump in to help. You check that the orders are correct, and the employees are well supervised and trained, as you are not always on the floor. Together with the whole team you make sure that everything is going according to plan and at the end you hand the shift over neatly to the colleagues taking over. This way the colleagues are up to date. Moreover, you are responsible for administrative tasks, such as processing and checking payments, and carrying out staff evaluations together with the F&B Manager.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming the guests and making sure they feel hospitable with our food and beverage options. Good service is our number one priority.
• Providing correct information about the drinks and dishes and serving them appropriately.
• Handling complex questions, complaints or feedback from our guests.
• Supervising and training the employees.
• Taking orders, making drinks and engaging in small conversation with our guests.
• Preparing the restaurant for dinner or cleaning up after breakfast.
• Refilling drinks in the bar so all drinks are available.

Qualifications

• The appropriate food & beverage knowledge, such as wine and cocktail knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as restaurant & bar waiter in a hotel.
• Fluent written and spoken English and preferably Dutch.

• You accrue 0.096 holiday hours per hour worked, up to a maximum of 190 holiday hours (25 holiday days) per holiday year and 8% holiday allowance.
