Experienced CNC Machine Operator (Metal Machining)

Position: The Gund Company – The Gund Company has an immediate opening for a full‑time Experienced CNC Machine Operator. The position is 1st shift with an hourly wage of $25.00–$29.00.

Job Summary: As a CNC Machine Operator II, you will support production operations by setting up, loading, and operating CNC production machinery while ensuring parts meet work order specifications and customer requirements. Your focus will be on quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production equipment such as mills and lathes.
• Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality, quantity, and customer standards.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on production machinery as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED with prior hands‑on, vocational, or job‑related coursework/training, or equivalent education and experience.
• 2+ years of combined formal training and experience, or equivalent.
• Experience with CNC machining or similar equipment.
• Strong basic math skills and ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Flexibility to work overtime and adjust to emergency production needs.

Preferred:

• Experience with metal machining or similar equipment.
• Previous experience in a custom manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

• Non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
• May involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.
