Job summary

Aflex Ships Equipment in Delft, Netherlands, is seeking a Business Development Executive – Marine to develop new business opportunities within the marine and ship management industry. You will promote and sell marine pumps, electric motors, pump & motor spares and other marine equipment, and manage the complete sales cycle from enquiry to order closing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in marine sales / business development.
  • Experience in selling marine equipment, pumps, motors, spares or related products is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing the complete B2B sales cycle, including lead generation, negotiation and closing.
  • Existing network within the Dutch / European marine industry is a strong advantage.
  • Must be currently based in the Netherlands and have the legal right to work there.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities within the marine and ship management industry.
  • Promote and sell marine pumps, electric motors, pump & motor spares and other marine equipment.
  • Identify and approach potential customers through cold calling, email, LinkedIn and direct visits.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle — enquiry, quotation, follow-up, negotiation and order closing.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with ship owners, ship managers, shipyards and other marine customers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and develop new accounts.
  • Research the market and identify new customers, projects and business opportunities.
  • Work closely with technical, purchasing, operations and back-office teams to ensure smooth order execution.
  • Attend marine exhibitions, industry events and customer meetings to generate new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales information in the CRM system.
  • Achieve agreed monthly and yearly sales targets.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in marine sales / business development.
  • Experience in selling marine equipment, pumps, motors, spares or related products is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing the complete B2B sales cycle, including lead generation, negotiation and closing.
  • Strong business development and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Existing network within the Dutch / European marine industry is a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to travel within the Netherlands and internationally for customer visits, exhibitions and business meetings.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of sales targets.
  • CRM experience is preferred.
  • Must be currently based in the Netherlands.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the Netherlands.

We are looking for someone who is sales-driven, commercially minded and comfortable developing business from the ground up.

This is not simply an account-management position. The successful candidate will be expected to actively develop the market, create new customer relationships, generate opportunities and convert them into orders.

Experience and connections within the marine, ship management, shipyard or marine equipment industry will be highly valued.
