Job summary

Refresco seeks an experienced European Maintenance & Asset Service Manager to lead the development and governance of our maintenance and asset management strategy across Europe. You will drive maturity, standardisation and performance improvements through SAP Maintenance rollout and data-driven improvements.

In this senior role you will collaborate with plant teams to stabilise lines, improve OEE, and optimise cost performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in maintenance, engineering or production roles within manufacturing.
• Solid experience in maintenance, engineering or asset management within manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading teams or projects, ideally across multiple sites or functions.

European Maintenance & Asset Service Manager

The essentials

• Location: Based in a EU country where Refresco has operations or Rotterdam

• Travel: 30–40% across European sites

About the role

As our European Maintenance & Asset Service Manager, you will play an essential role in building and strengthening our maintenance structure as our organisation continues to change and transform. Drawing on your senior-level experience, you will bring the expertise and leadership needed to create lasting value across our European operations.

The primary objective for you is to Lead the development and governance of Refresco Europe's maintenance and asset management strategy, ensuring a consistent framework, standards and performance expectations across all European manufacturing sites.

Through maturity scans, process harmonisation and the rollout of SAP Maintenance, you will strengthen maintenance excellence across the network. You will also support Refresco’s strategic ambitions, including our global transformation project, by improving OEE, asset reliability and cost performance. Working closely with plant teams, you will stabilise priority lines, build local capability and ensure improvements are practical, sustainable and owned by the sites.

This senior role requires someone who can take ownership and operate independently and effectively in a complex multi-site European manufacturing environment. Success in this role will be measured through improvements in OEE, maintenance cost efficiency, planned maintenance compliance, asset reliability, SAP maintenance maturity and capability development across European sites.

What you will be doing

• Support the delivery of our global transformation program by addressing asset-related losses and improving line performance in priority areas.

• Identify performance gaps and work with site teams to implement practical solutions that improve availability and reliability.

• Define and roll out fit-for-purpose maintenance standards, including preventive, condition-based and basic reliability practices.

• Actively support sites in stabilising underperforming lines by combining short-term fixes with structural improvements.

• Use KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR and planned versus unplanned maintenance to track progress and ensure follow-up.

• Coach maintenance and operations teams, strengthening basic discipline, ownership and problem-solving routines.

• Drive the implementation and standardisation of SAP Maintenance processes and master data across European operations.

• Implement reliability engineering practices including root cause analysis, asset criticality assessments and preventive maintenance optimisation.

• Support sites in improving the use of external service providers and spare-parts strategies.

• Develop asset lifecycle and criticality methodologies to optimise reliability, cost and capital investment decisions

What you will bring

• Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering or equivalent.

• At least 10+ years of experience in maintenance, engineering or production roles within manufacturing.

• Solid experience in maintenance, engineering or asset management within manufacturing environments.

• Experience leading teams or projects, ideally across multiple sites or functions

• Experience operating in a multi-country and multi-site manufacturing environment.

• Comfortable working on the shop floor, identifying root causes and driving practical solutions.

• The ability to use data to understand losses and track improvements

• The ability to build strong working relationships with site teams and support them in delivering results

• Proven ability to drive organisational change and influence stakeholders across multiple sites and functions.

• Experience driving structured improvements with a focus on sustainable outcomes rather than one-off fixes.

• The ability to take ownership and ensure actions are followed through to results.

• Experience with maintenance systems (CMMS) and continuous improvement approaches such as Lean or TPM is a plus.
