As our Group Insurance Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to build and professionalise Refresco's global insurance function. This is a newly created role with the freedom to shape how insurance and risk management are organized across our international business. Working from our headquarters in Rotterdam, you will influence decisions that protect of manufacturing sites, distribution networks, and operations across Europe, North America, and Australia.
You will combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach: partnering with senior leaders, brokers, insurers, legal, finance, and operational teams while regularly visiting our production sites to stay connected to the business.

What You Will Do
- Own and continuously optimize Refresco's global insurance portfolio across Europe, North America and Australia, ensuring the right balance between risk protection, business continuity and cost efficiency.
- Lead the annual insurance renewal process end-to-end
- Develop and implement Refresco's global insurance strategy, policies and Group Risk Manual, driving consistent risk and insurance practices across the organization.
- Identify and assess operational, financial and strategic risks, partnering with Operations, Legal, Safety & Quality and other stakeholders to strengthen risk mitigation and resilience.
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, plant managers, brokers and insurers, acting as the business partner for all insurance and risk-related matters.
- Visit manufacturing sites to understand operational risks, support loss prevention initiatives and contribute to a proactive risk culture.
- Oversee insurance claims across the European Business Units, analyse trends and drive continuous improvements to reduce future losses.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, governance requirements and internal standards while monitoring market and legislative developments.
- Manage insurance budgets, premiums and broker relationships, identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve risk transfer solutions.
About You
You are a proactive and commercially minded insurance professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking with a hands-on approach. You thrive in an international environment, communicate confidently with stakeholders at every level, and enjoy building something new while staying close to the business.
You also bring:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Law or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience in international corporate insurance and/or risk management
- A solid understanding of corporate insurance solutions, European insurance markets and relevant regulatory frameworks
- Experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG or food & beverage
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to advise and influence senior leaders
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills, combined with a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset
- Professional certifications such as FERMA Rimap, CII or CPCU are considered an advantage.
- Fluency in English
- You will occasionally travel to Refresco manufacturing sites and warehouses across Europe.
