Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Equipment Engineer for general equipment and Upstream Processing (USP) LV Operations at the Sassenheim site. You will strengthen a team of specialists with expertise in TCSUs, cell culturing, wave/biole bioreactors, single-use bioreactors, and cell counting.

You ensure safe, compliant operations and contribute to project teams to improve reliability. You will be system owner for qualifications, training, and procedures, enabling first-time-right production while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedicine, process technology (or equivalent education).
• Manufacturing specialist 3-4 years' experience in a biotechnology or biopharmaceutical industry environment.
• Proven knowledge in fridges/freezers (TCSU's), cell culturing, incubators, single-use bioreactor control.
• Experience with cGMP environment and EHSS standards is required.
• Experience with Annex 1 guidelines is preferred.
• Must be able to perform troubleshooting 24/7 on a rotating basis.
• Excellent communication in English and Dutch (English B2, Dutch pre).

Responsibilities

• Manage and use business processes to analyze equipment performance and propose improvements.
• Identify, plan and control changes for system and process robustness.
• Lead/owner system- or facility-related projects with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure production equipment is validated, documented, maintained, and capacity meets planning.
• Coordinate interaction between Operations, Maintenance and Engineering across sites.
• Generate process equipment reports and KPIs and monitor status (uptime, downtime, etc.).
• Initiate and execute test protocols to improve the system or process.
