Job summary

Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Biologics B.V. facility in Sassenheim seeks an Equipment Engineer for general equipment and USP within the LV Operations.

The role focuses on safe, compliant, and efficient production with a strong emphasis on cGMP, process optimization, and cross‑functional collaboration. The position requires a Bachelor’s in biotech/related field, 3–4 years in biotech/biopharma, and proficiency in English (B2) and Dutch (pre).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedicine, process technology (or equivalent education).
• Manufacturing specialist 3–4 years’ experience in biotech/biopharma.
• Experience with Fridges/Freezers (TCSU’s), Cell culturing, Incubators, Single Use Bioreactors.
• Experience with cGMP environment and EHSS standards.
• Experience with Annex1 guidelines preferred.
• Able to perform troubleshooting 24/7 every 4 weeks.
• Excellent communication in English (B2) and Dutch (pre).

Responsibilities

• Manage equipment performance and drive improvements.
• Plan and control changes for system and process robustness.
• Lead/own system-related projects with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure validated state of production equipment and up-to-date documentation.
• Coordinate between Operations, Maintenance and Engineering.
• Generate equipment reports and KPIs.
• Maintain visibility of uptime, downtime, and capacity.
• Initiate and execute test protocols to improve systems.
