Job summary

DAF is seeking an Engine and EAS Simulation Engineer to optimize internal combustion engine performance and emissions, bridging thermodynamics with virtual validation within Randstad Professional's client projects.

You will work in the Concept Development team, perform 1D engine simulations in GT-Suite, calibrate models, develop ML approaches for emissions and engine performance, and deliver actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in internal combustion engines.
• At least 3 years of simulation experience in the automotive engine industry (heavy-duty diesel preferred).
• Proven MATLAB expertise for data analysis, model development, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 1D engine simulations, optimizations, and advanced model developments in GT-Suite.
• Calibrate DI-pulse combustion and emission models against experimental data.
• Develop ML models for emissions, engine performance and EAS.
• Develop and execute integrated engine and EAS simulations for tailpipe emissions, including potential chemical kinetics in GT-Suite xChem.
• Analyze results, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and present to stakeholders.
• Enhance model accuracy, efficiency, robustness, and explore novel technologies and control concepts.
