Job summary

DAF, a leading Dutch truck manufacturer headquartered in Eindhoven, is seeking an Emission Calibration Engineer to optimize engine and aftertreatment ECU functions and meet upcoming environmental standards.

You will calibrate engine and exhaust aftertreatment controllers, plan and supervise test bench runs, analyze results, and present findings to internal and external partners while providing application support for vehicle integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in internal combustion engines.
• At least three years of experience in diesel engine or aftertreatment application work.
• Detailed knowledge of thermodynamics, combustion and control engineering.
• Hands-on experience using application tools and configuring ECU communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate engine and exhaust aftertreatment system (SCR, DPF, DOC) controllers.
• Plan, prepare, and supervise engine test bench runs on engine dynos.
• Analyze, document, and present testing results to internal and external development partners.
• Solve complex technical challenges and implement solutions in close project team collaboration.

Are you ready to optimize the future of heavy-duty diesel engine emissions? At DAF, you play a pivotal role in calibrating advanced engine and aftertreatment systems to meet strict upcoming environmental standards.

As an Emission Calibration Engineer at DAF, you focus on the application and validation of engine and aftertreatment ECU functions. You work with state-of-the‑art engine hardware, sensors, and actuators to ensure compliance with performance targets and regulatory limits.

• Calibrate engine and exhaust aftertreatment system (EAS) controllers including SCR, DPF, and DOC.
• Plan, prepare, and supervise engine test bench runs on engine dynos.
• Analyze, document, and present testing results to internal and external development partners.
• Solve complex technical challenges and implement solutions in close project team collaboration.
• Provide application support for vehicle-related engine and aftertreatment integrations.

Requirements

You are successful when:

• You hold a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in internal combustion engines, and at least three years of experience in diesel engine or aftertreatment application work.
