Job summary

Via is seeking a Payroll Lead EMEA to own monthly payroll for Germany and provide oversight to Payroll Managers across Israel and Europe. You will collaborate with Finance, People, and Operations to maintain accurate, compliant payroll, and continuously improve processes.

The role requires 7+ years in German payroll, fluency in English, and strong Excel skills, with remote work options and periodic travel to Berlin or Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of payroll experience in Germany.
• Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems and Excel.
• Experience across EMEA payroll is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the monthly payroll process for Via Germany with internal teams and external provider.
• Provide leadership to Payroll Managers across Israel and Europe to ensure consistency.
• Monitor changes in German tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and internal controls.
• Manage deductions and tax withholdings with confidentiality.
• Lead payroll-related financial reporting from journal entries to GL reconciliation.
• Assist on escalated payroll queries and support cross-functional initiatives.
