Job summary

Flexport is expanding its EMEA Accounting team in Amsterdam with an Operations Controller who will own the full monthly close across 15+ countries. The role requires strong GAAP expertise, VAT knowledge and leadership to drive automation and cross-functional collaboration.

You will oversee revenue/COGS accuracy, manage liquidity and partner with FP&A, Legal, People and Workplace on compliance and initiatives, while developing the accounting team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting and operational finance experience in a high-growth company.
• Experience in multinational settings with cross-border reporting needs.
• Strong background in GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to deploy and oversee automated finance tools and data stacks.

Responsibilities

• Own full monthly close timeliness, completeness and accuracy across a multi-entity footprint.
• Ensure accuracy of local Revenue and COGS, including TP calculations.
• Control costs, balance sheet and liquidity through OPEX, T&E and cash flow reviews.
• Build and deliver an automation roadmap for accounting processes and ERP integration.
• Enforce VAT recording end-to-end across EU and international jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with Business, FP&A and back-office teams on contracts, compliance and reporting.
• Provide leadership and development for the Accounting team.
