Job summary

Adyen in Amsterdam is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join the Group Finance team. You will partner across global finance functions to redesign close processes, drive automation, and maintain a robust control environment.

You will own the monthly consolidated P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, lead external audits, and guide multi-entity, cross-border accounting. Strong IFRS knowledge and Big 4 experience are a plus; 5+ years in financial control required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in financial control, accounting, or external audit (Big 4 a strong plus).
• Analytical mindset with ability to work independently.
• Experience with complex multi-entity global accounting and intercompany settlements.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and external audits management.
• Experience with Workday/Workiva/ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with FinOps and Financial Data Teams to optimize core accounting processes using automation tools for a low-touch close.
• Maintain a scalable intercompany framework and review reconciliations.
• Act as SPOC for Group External Auditors and lead audit readiness and deliverables.
• Own the monthly consolidated P&L and explain variances with business context.
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations.
• Own month-end close activities and set consolidated/ regional materiality thresholds.
• Upskill GL accountants and other controllers on end-to-end processes.
