Sioux in Mijdrecht is seeking an Embedded Software Designer to develop and test software for high-tech products. You will contribute across bare-metal and embedded Linux environments, collaborating with client sites in the Randstad area to deliver reliable software solutions.

The role emphasizes real-time systems, safety-focused development, and cross-disciplinary teamwork. You will design, implement, and verify state machines and interfaces, improving code quality and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, embedded systems, or equivalent.
• Hands-on embedded C/C++ software development experience.
• Strong grasp of real-time systems and safety-critical software.
• Focus on code quality, performance and safety.
• Familiar with UART, SPI, CAN and I2C communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop bare-metal embedded software in C and C++.
• Create automated tests in Python.
• Work with real-time OS like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Embedded Linux.
• Design and implement state machines and real-time logic.
• Integrate communication protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN, I2C.
• Apply Functional Safety standards (IEC 61508, MISRA) and coding guidelines.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams focused on knowledge sharing and technical excellence.

This is what you bring to the table

• A Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar
• 5 year experience Hands-on experience in embedded C/C++ software development
• A strong grasp of real-time systems and safety-critical software
• A passion for code quality, performance, and safety
• Knowledge of hardware and communication protocols (UART, SPI, CAN, I2C)
• Curiosity about new technologies and tools
• Fluent in English and Dutch
