Job summary

Sioux is seeking a Software Designer to develop high-tech software for semiconductor, analytical instrumentation, and medical equipment industries. The role spans from concept to delivery, with a focus on bridging architects and engineers and owning subsystems across the lifecycle.

You will work from Apeldoorn and at client sites within the Enschede–Zwolle–Nijmegen triangle, applying design patterns, UML, and Agile methods while coaching junior engineers and collaborating with a driven team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Software Engineering/CE
• 7+ years of technical software development experience
• 4–5 years in Semicon, Medical, or Analytical domains
• Experience with two of C#, C++, Java
• Knowledge of Design Patterns, UML, and Agile
• Ability to coach junior engineers
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
• Valid European driver’s license and willingness to travel

This is what you bring to the table

• You have a technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• You have 7+ years of experience in technical software development, gained in various roles and across diverse product environments and/or projects.
• Over the past 4–5 years, you have worked within technical domains such as Semicon, Medical, or Analytical.
• You have experience with at least two of the following programming languages: C#, C++, or Java.
• You have knowledge of and/or experience with various development methodologies and techniques such as Design Patterns, UML, and Agile, and you keep your technical expertise up to date. You are looking for an environment where you can apply these developments in practice as well.
• Based on your experience, you are able to coach junior engineers.
• You are a team player and keep the common goal in mind.
• You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• You hold a valid European driver’s license and are willing to travel.
