Job summary

Sioux in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Designer to develop and test software for high-tech equipment in semiconductor, analytical instrumentation, and medical sectors. Based from Apeldoorn, you'll work on challenging projects at customer sites and our offices.

You will design modular architectures, write embedded software in C, C++, or Rust, and collaborate with electronics and mechatronics engineers in multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in technical software development across diverse product environments and technical domains.
• Experience with C, C++, Rust, Linux, and embedded environments.
• Knowledge of Design Patterns, UML, and Agile; able to apply in practice.
• Able to coach junior colleagues and uphold overall product quality.
• Team player with a shared-goal mindset.
• Dutch and English fluency; EU driving license; willingness to travel.

This is what you bring to the table

• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• You have 7+ years of experience in technical software development, gained through various roles and across diverse product environments and/or projects within technical domains such as Semicon, Medical, or Analytical.
• You have experience with C, C++, Rust, Linux, and embedded environments.
• You have knowledge of and/or experience with various development methodologies and techniques such as Design Patterns, UML, and Agile, and you keep your professional knowledge up to date. You are looking for an environment where you can apply these developments in practice as well.
• Based on your experience, you are able to coach junior colleagues and are responsible for the overall quality of the product.
• You are a team player and keep the shared goal in mind.
• Knowledge of Electronics is considered a plus
• You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written
• You hold a valid European driver’s license and are willing to travel

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the US Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.).
