Job summary

Kinetron BV, part of the ASSA ABLOY group, is looking for an Electronics/Electromechanical Design Engineer to lead electromechanical system design from concept through life cycle. You will perform electromagnetic simulations, develop models in MATLAB/Python, and collaborate with mechanical and electronics teams to ensure optimal performance.

The role involves test development using NI hardware, design optimization, and working within a global access solutions company.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience using finite element analysis (FEA) software for electromagnetic simulations.
• Strong understanding of electromagnetic system principles, including motors and generators.
• Knowledge of electric machine design concepts (winding design, magnetic materials, losses, efficiency).
• Programming experience in MATLAB and/or Python for analysis, modelling, or automation.
• Ability to perform design optimization and parametric studies.
• Experience using NI data acquisition hardware to develop test setups.
• Ability to collaborate with mechanical and electronics teams for integrated system performance.
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence is a plus.
• Good communication skills (English; Dutch is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Develop and perform electromagnetic simulations of electromechanical systems using FEA tools.
• Create and maintain simulation models and analysis tools for full-system simulations in MATLAB/Python with FEM.
• Conduct system-level design optimization and parametric studies.
• Develop and implement experimental test setups using NI hardware.
• Define test plans and test setups to evaluate prototype performance.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electronics teams for integrated system performance.
• Support teams in building and commissioning test setups for prototype validation.
