Job summary

Kinetron BV (an ASSA ABLOY company) is seeking an Electromechanical Design Engineer in Tilburg, NL. You will lead electromechanical design activities, from concept to end-of-life, with a focus on motors, mechanisms, and energy harvesters.

You will run electromagnetic simulations, build models in MATLAB/Python, and optimize designs for efficiency and reliability while integrating with mechanical and electronics teams. Proficiency in NI data acquisition and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience using FEA software for electromagnetic simulations.
• Strong understanding of electromagnetic system principles, incl. motors/generators.
• Knowledge of electric machine design concepts: winding design, materials, losses, efficiency.
• Programming in MATLAB and/or Python for analysis/automation.
• Ability to perform design optimization and parametric studies.
• Experience with NI data acquisition hardware to develop test setups.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electronics teams for integrated performance.
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence is a plus.
• Good communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop electromagnetic simulations of electromechanical systems using FEA tools.
• Create simulation models and analysis tools for full-system modelling in MATLAB/Python.
• Perform system-level design optimization to improve performance and reliability.
• Develop experimental test setups using NI hardware to validate concepts.
• Define test plans and evaluate prototype performance under operating conditions.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electronics teams for seamless integration.
• Support test setup building and prototype validation.
