Job summary

Huisman in Schiedam seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and implement safe, reliable electrical systems for flagship onshore and offshore projects. You will develop single-line diagrams, power system architectures, instrumentation, and network designs, using MATLAB and SKM to validate performance.

You will collaborate across disciplines and travel to suppliers, shipyards and production facilities, ensuring documentation supports classification and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Maritime Technology or a related technical discipline.
• Some experience as an Electrical Engineer within the offshore or maritime sector is preferred, but we are open to recent graduates.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems from single-line diagrams to component selection and network design.
• Translate system requirements into practical electrical solutions and perform necessary calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations and prepare technical specifications for clients and shipyards.
• Collaborate with customers and shipyards to integrate Huisman equipment on vessels.
• Share expertise across the organisation to support projects with electrical knowledge.
• Deliver procurement, production, testing and commissioning documents to turn designs into reality.
