Electrical Engineer – Heavy Structure Engineering
Mechanical Engineering & Offshore · Amsterdam-West · Unique Crane Projects from Design to Completion · Up to €6,000 gross per month
Introduction
Would you like to work as an Electrical Engineer on impressive cranes used worldwide in the offshore, maritime, and wind energy industries? At a specialized crane manufacturer in Amsterdam-West, you will have the opportunity to design electrical systems for complex, custom-built lifting equipment. You will join a small, close-knit engineering team where your technical expertise makes a direct impact and where you won't just be sitting behind a desk, but regularly visit the workshop as well. From the initial electrical design in EPLAN to the final realization, you will see your engineering work come to life.
Your Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical design of specialized cranes and lifting equipment. You will work on a variety of projects where practical engineering, technical creativity, and collaboration are key.
Company Profile
You will join an internationally operating specialist in the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of high-end cranes and lifting equipment. The company delivers customized solutions for the maritime, offshore, and wind energy industries.
What makes this working environment particularly attractive is that engineering and production take place at the same location in Zaandam. You can literally walk into the workshop to see how your designs are being built and discuss technical challenges directly with your colleagues.
Within Electrical Engineering, you will work in a small team of approximately two engineers. This means plenty of responsibility, short communication lines, and the opportunity to make a visible contribution. The culture is practical, informal, and technically driven. Colleagues support each other, focus on solutions, and value people who combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills.
The company works on a limited number of large, technically challenging projects each year. Rather than repetitive mass production, you will contribute to specialized machines where almost every project brings new engineering challenges. Developments in electrification and emerging energy technologies also create exciting opportunities for technical innovation.
Your Profile
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with a strong technical foundation, a hands‑on mindset, and the ability to thrive in a small engineering team. You don't need to know everything about cranes. With the right electrical engineering background and an interest in mechanical engineering, there is plenty of room to learn.
Nice to have: Experience with cranes, lifting equipment, offshore machinery, or electrical drive technology would be a strong advantage.
