Job summary

Almendraconsulting’s client, a world leader in automated sorting and packing lines, seeks an Electrical Engineer to develop electrical hardware for complex machines in the Netherlands. You will create detailed electrical designs, schematics in EPLAN, and standardised modular solutions while collaborating with mechanical and software engineers.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience, fluency in English, and a willingness to learn Dutch.

Location: Netherlands | Full-time | Permanent

About the role

Our client is a world leader in developing automated sorting and packing lines. They are looking for an Electrical Engineer to develop the electrical hardware for complex machines, from initial concept to detailed design. You will turn functional requirements into electrical concepts, select components, and create detailed schematics and documentation in EPLAN. You will focus on modularity, standardisation, and reuse across machine configurations, working closely with mechanical and software engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical hardware designs for machines, from concept and component selection through to detailed engineering.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics and technical documentation in EPLAN.
• Translate functional and machine requirements into practical electrical designs.
• Develop reusable electrical modules and contribute to standardisation across machine configurations.
• Select and specify components, including sensors, drives, control hardware, and safety equipment.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical and software engineers.
• Ensure designs meet applicable electrical safety standards and quality requirements.
• Support assembly, testing, and validation by resolving electrical design issues.
• Maintain design documentation and manage engineering changes throughout development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on electrical hardware engineering experience in machine development, covering both concept and detailed design.
• Proven EPLAN expertise, with the ability to independently create complete, structured electrical designs.
• Strong knowledge of electrical components, machine control hardware, and relevant industrial standards.
• Ability to translate functional requirements into technically sound and practical designs.
• Structured, accurate, and solution-oriented approach to engineering.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with mechanical and software engineers.
• Fluent English.
• Willingness to learn Dutch. Existing Dutch language skills are not required.
• Eligible to work in the EU/EEA.

Nice to have

• Experience designing modular machine systems and reusable electrical solutions.
• Experience with Windchill.
