Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to lead on-site delivery for large-scale data centre projects. You will run the electrical installation from mobilisation through energisation and handover, managing labour, subcontractors and site teams while collaborating with in-house project management, engineering and commissioning colleagues.

You will have authority on site, leading a self-delivering electrical contractor with its own engineers and HV/MV capability,

Qualifications

• Experience as Electrical Construction Manager, Site Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor on mission-critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV installation and critical power systems.
• Proven ability to lead large, fast-track site works with multiple trades.
• Solid understanding of QA/QC processes and commissioning support.
• Deep familiarity with HSE legislation and safe systems of work.
• Comfortable dealing with main contractors and clients on site.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site electrical construction activity on data centre projects from mobilisation to handover.
• Oversee installation of LV, MV and HV systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, busbar, cabling and containment.
• Plan and sequence site works, labour resources and material deliveries against the project programme.
• Supervise supervisors, foremen, electricians and subcontractors and drive productivity and quality targets.
• Coordinate daily with main contractor, mechanical trades and other site packages to resolve interfaces.
• Enforce QA/QC standards, inspection and test plans, and installation documentation.
• Report site progress, productivity, risks and issues to the Project Manager and senior leadership.

Job description

An established specialist electrical contractor with over 35 years in critical infrastructure is looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to lead site delivery on large-scale data centre projects. You'll run the electrical installation on site, from mobilisation through to energisation and handover, managing labour, subcontractors and site teams while working closely with in-house project management, engineering and commissioning colleagues.

You'll have real authority on site, leading a self-delivering electrical contractor with its own engineers, off-site manufacturing and HV/MV capability rather than coordinating other people's packages. Second, you'll be building hyperscale and colocation facilities for globally recognised clients, which is some of the most technically demanding and in-demand work in construction right now. Third, as the business expands its data centre portfolio there is a clear path into senior construction leadership across multiple sites.

Skills/Must have:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Construction Manager, Site Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor on mission-critical projects

• Track record of leading large site workforces on fast-track, multi-trade projects
• Solid understanding of HSE legislation, safe systems of work and electrical safety rules
• Experience working to QA/QC processes and supporting commissioning through to handover
• Comfortable dealing with main contractors and clients on site
