Job description

Introduction to the job

Are you passionate about safety and motivated by guiding others toward a safe and compliant way of working? The EUV Factory (EF) handles the full production flow of our extreme ultraviolet (EUV) systems—from build to final system installation.

The EF Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department plays a Pivotal role in supporting operational teams and ensuring safe work practices within both the factory and customer fabs.

As part of the EF EHS team, and in close cooperation with the EF Install Team, you will help secure a safe working environment in cleanrooms and during installation activities on customer sites worldwide.

Role and Responsibilities

As an EF EHS Prevention Officer / Area Safety Guard (ASG), your core mission is to build and maintain a strong safety culture in both the EF cleanroom and customer fabs. You contribute to contamination control, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of safety behavior.

Factory Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all safety‑related matters within the EF cleanroom.
  • Monitor and guide daily cleanroom work practices in a constructive and motivational manner.
  • Contribute to standardized safety, quality, and workflow processes.
  • Review and manage work permits and perform safety checks.
  • Conduct gas measurements and ensure proper documentation.
  • Coach teams on topics such as 5S+1, Lockout/Tagout, working at heights, and confined‑space entry.
  • Perform audits on safety, contamination control, and work‑permit adherence.
  • Execute 5S+1 and LOTO principle‑based audits.
  • Deliver DK1 safety presentations to EF teams.
ASG Responsibilities (Customer Fab Installations)
  • Support EF Install Teams during system installation phases in customer fabs.
  • Travel to new fab locations as required (15–35%), depending on assignment needs).
  • Ensure that the local work environment meets all safety standards so installation activities can proceed safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct on‑site safety supervision and proactively address unsafe conditions.
Education and Experience
Education
  • MVK and MBO-4 education (preferred mechatronic)
  • Around eight years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or safety‑related environment is preferred.
Experience (Preferred, But Trainable On The Job)
  • More than five years of relevant experience (work permits, safety inspections, VCA), preferably within cleanroom environments.
  • Experience in safety or technical work environments.
  • Dutch language skills are preferred due to daily interactions on the work floor.
  • Good command of English is required.
Skills

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

  • Strong communication skills and a service‑oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility: willing to work overtime and travel when needed (including air travel).
  • Ownership, initiative, and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to inspire others and promote safety awareness.
  • Stress resistance, especially in multicultural, fast‑changing environments.
  • Motivation to share knowledge and train colleagues.
  • Accurate and structured working style.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Proficiency with digital systems (MS Excel, SAP, intranet).
  • Capability to operate within a multidisciplinary high‑tech environment.
