DEPT® is seeking a Director of SEO to serve as the technical and strategic lead for our organic search practice. You will steer a team of experts, drive innovation from AI-driven discovery to complex ecosystems, and help win new business with compelling, data-driven storytelling.

You will refine our methodology across technical, content, and authority-building pillars, while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact projects and ensure profitability.

Qualifications

• 8–11 years of experience in SEO strategy and leadership.
• Senior agency leadership with focus on team management and craft development.
• Deep technical expertise in SEO including migrations, headless architectures, and international SEO.
• Strong commercial acumen to scope projects for profitability.
• Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills for broad audiences.
• Collaborative mindset across Media, Creative, and Tech teams.
• Active involvement in the SEO community and staying ahead of industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Refine and scale the agency’s SEO methodology for technical, content, and authority-building excellence.
• Lead high-stakes new business pitches to C-suite stakeholders.
• Oversee strategic roadmap for a portfolio of accounts, ensuring high impact and timely delivery.
• Partner with Business Development and Client Services to scope complex SEO projects.
• Navigate multi-agency environments to integrate SEO into the broader marketing mix.
• Champion integration of Generative AI and data science into SEO planning and execution.
• Lead and mentor Associate Directors and Managers to foster a high-performance culture.
