Job summary

PhotonFirst International seeks a senior finance leader to own end-to-end financial strategy, governance and transaction readiness. You will drive fundraising readiness, shareholder governance, and company secretarial matters as part of the management team.

You will shape strategy, funding and exit readiness for growth. Fluent English and Dutch, strong stakeholder management, and proven experience with VC/PE fundraising are essential; Alkmaar-based, on-site role in a fast-moving photonics

The role

• Be the end-to-end owner of finance, financial control and corporate governance within PhotonFirst – as member of the PhotonFirst Management Team;
• Take charge of financial strategy, fundraising preparation, shareholder governance and company secretarial matters;
• Actively contribute as a Management Team member to overall company strategy, funding, governance and future exit readiness;
• Make PhotonFirst ready for a next step in fundraising and/or investment;
• Step-in yourself and support getting financial, legal, tax and governance matters under control and ready for the next growth phase.

You

• Like the dynamics of a small, fast-moving and rapidly changing company;
• Understand the key value drivers of a business and can translate strategy into financial priorities and value creation;
• Are forward-looking and commercially minded, not just reporting;
• Are digitally savvy and comfortable using modern IT, data and AI tools to improve finance, forecasting and decision-making;
• Have experience with corporate governance, board/shareholder matters and company secretarial responsibilities;
• Have experience with VC fundraising, investor materials, transaction documentation and due diligence;
• Managed relationships with shareholders, banks, lenders, insurers, auditors, tax advisors and legal advisors;
• Exit experience: Successfully supported or led a previous exit process in a PE-backed or VC-backed environment;
• Are externally credible and comfortable joining customer, supplier, investor and partner meetings;
• Fluent in English & Dutch - living and available to operate from Alkmaar
