PhotonFirst is seeking a Deep Tech Marketing Manager to define and execute marketing strategies that position PIC packaging and Fiber Optic sensing offerings, translating complex photonics into clear, customer-focused messaging to accelerate business development. You will craft campaigns and content that resonate with technical buyers and drive opportunities.

You will organize exhibitions, support sales with targeted materials, and drive the company’s digital presence, including SEO and HubSpot

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in B2B marketing, ideally in tech/photonic sectors.
• Experience translating complex technical topics into clear messaging.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage exhibitions, conferences and technical events.
• Support sales and BD with targeted marketing materials for key opportunities.
• Develop high-quality technical content (case studies, whitepapers, application notes, website content).
• Manage and optimize website, SEO and digital presence (external agency support possible).
• Set up and manage campaigns, lead flows and basic reporting (e.g. HubSpot).
• Coordinate external partners (agencies, designers, freelancers) where needed.

The role

At PhotonFirst, we build the bridge between photonic innovation and real-world impact. Our technologies cover both photonic integrated circuit (PIC) packaging and Fiber Optic sensing, enabling customers to deploy highly reliable systems in some of the world’s most demanding environments; from aerospace and defense to quantum applications.

As the photonics ecosystem is rapidly evolving, both PIC packaging and Fiber Optic sensing are becoming critical enablers for scaling next-generation systems. PhotonFirst is at the forefront of this transition, combining photonics expertise with a pragmatic, engineering-driven approach to bring complex systems into operation.

To strengthen our commercial growth, we are looking for a Deep Tech Marketing Manager to define and execute marketing that clearly positions PhotonFirst across both PIC packaging and Fiber Optic sensing applications, and supports business development with strong messaging, content and lead generation.

Your key activities include:

• Organize and manage exhibitions, conferences and technical events
• Support sales and BD with targeted sales materials for key opportunities and accounts
• Develop high-quality technical content (case studies, whitepapers, application notes, website content)
• Manage and optimize website, SEO and digital presence (execution can be supported by external agencies)
• Set up and manage campaigns, lead flows and basic reporting (e.g. HubSpot)

Coordinate external partners (agencies, designers, freelancers) where needed

You

• Have experience in B2B marketing. Bonus points for experience in a deep-tech environment (such as photonics or quantum)
• Combine hands-on execution with strategic thinking
• Take ownership and can independently manage marketing activities end-to‑end
• Are able to translate complex technical topics into clear and compelling messaging and ensure consistent positioning and branding across all channels
• Are fluent in English and available to work 24-40 hours, partly from our Alkmaar office.
