Job summary

Adyen in Amsterdam is seeking a Legal Team Lead for Deal Desk - Transactions. You will manage a lean team of commercial lawyers who draft, review, and negotiate multi-jurisdictional contracts with vendors and partners.

You will provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders across procurement, partnerships, product, and regulatory teams, while driving automation and global standards in contract processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience, in-house or at a law firm.
• Strong drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of complex commercial contracts.
• Experience building and leading teams of lawyers.
• Ability to advise senior stakeholders and manage cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of commercial lawyers drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex, multi-jurisdictional contracts.
• Provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice to senior stakeholders across procurement, partnerships, product, and regulatory teams globally.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for strategic decisions and risk mitigation.
• Drive legal automation and process improvements to scale the team and improve negotiation efficiency.
• Advise on contract interpretation, early-stage disputes, and other general commercial matters.
• Ensure a global voice and consistent standards across the Deal Desk and drive global initiatives.
• Foster collaboration and feedback within the Legal Team.
• Keep up to date with developments in commercial law and relevant regulations.
