Job summary

The company in Amsterdam is seeking a driven Team Lead for the global Deal Desk. You will manage a lean team of commercial lawyers, mentor and develop talent, and work with senior stakeholders across procurement, partnerships, product, and regulatory teams.

Based in Amsterdam, you will build scalable negotiation playbooks, drive automation, and ensure consistency across multi-jurisdictional contracts while aligning with the company’s growth ambitions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of complex commercial contracts.
• Experience managing, mentoring, and developing lawyers or other legal professionals.
• Committed to building diverse, high-performing teams and collaborating with stakeholders across functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of commercial lawyers who draft, review, and negotiate multi-jurisdictional agreements.
• Provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice to senior stakeholders across procurement, partnerships, product, and regulatory teams.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for the team, guiding strategic decisions on complex legal issues.
• Drive legal automation efforts and process improvements to scale the team and improve efficiency.
• Advise on contract interpretation, early-stage disputes, and other general commercial matters.
• Ensure a global voice and consistent standards across the Deal Desk, developing playbooks and training teams.
• Foster strong collaboration within the Legal Team and stay updated on relevant regulations.
• Keep up to date with developments in commercial law and inform the business of implications.
